Wishlist Wednesday #7

Wishlist Wednesday

Wishlist Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted over at Pen to Paper. This meme is where you showcase one book that is on your wishlist and that you can’t wait to get off your wishlist and into your hands.

Welcome to an awesome weekly meme:  Wishlist Wednesday!  This is a blog hop to share something that I am very excited to read…but haven’t read yet!

This week I want to feature a professional development book.  We read a piece by Donalyn Miller earlier in the semester.  She has been an amazing inspiration to me!

I want to learn more about Ms. Miller and her philosophy of choosing what you read.  Her thinking has influenced how I feel about teaching reading.  This book will be a great chance to explore her thoughts some more!

Follow the link and join the blog hop!

  1. I hope you can get a hold of this book soon! You’ll have to tell us if her work is enlightening on the subject of student reading. She’s obviously very experienced and hopefully we can all learn something from her.

  2. Sounds like this book would be very helpful for a teacher focusing on getting her/his students to read. I loved the piece we read from her already this year, it had so many great ideas I can’t imagine how many more ideas her book will give! Great post!

    1. I can’t wait to read it. I have done some online research about her and everything I have read just makes more sense than any other reading philosophy. I have a co-worker who has both of her books. Someday I may raid her shelves to borrow them!
